3.2 What are the requirements for the photo?

The photograph is required for any visa application and must meet the following criteria:

  1. in color with a white or light grey background;
  2. format 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm; head should measure vertically min. 32 mm to max. 36 mm.
  3. taken from the front; without obstruction;
  4. with a closed mouth and without showing any teeth;
  5. without any shadow obstructing the face;
  6. ensuring all features are clearly visible: eyes, nose, mouth, forehead and ears;
  7. recent (less than 6 months old).

Please ensure that on the photograph you submit you are:

  1. only wearing glasses that have light frames, not distorting the outline of the face or blocking the eyes;
  2. not wearing contact lenses that change the color of the eyes;
  3. not wearing hats, a veil or other headwear (religious headwear is allowed; please see image below for a compliant example);
  4. wearing none or only small  jewelry.
  5. Picture should not be heavily altered (beautified) by the photographer.

Please note, if the photograph you submit at the time of the application submission is deemed uncompliant, you will be asked to take a new photo.
